Welcome to the City of Stephenson. Stephenson is a City of 860 people located in the middle of Menominee County, Michigan. The City has a Mayoral form of government with a Council of six persons.

The City has several parks set up with horseshoe courts, a ball diamond, two small pavilions and one large pavilion which is transformed into an ice rink in the winter time.

The City has many businesses and restaurants, which include two family style, one bar and restaurant, and a Subway.

The City also provides safe drinking water, a sanitary sewer system, and its own electrical system with power being purchased from Wisconsin Public Service. A K- 12 school system which services the Mid-County area is also located in the City.

Many other recreational opportunities are available in our area, such as small and large game hunting, and inland and great lakes fishing and trapping.

TOWN HALL MEETING- June 26th at 7:00 p.m.

50 years ago, the residents of the City were asked to vote on adopting a City Charter and Stephenson moved from a village to a home rule City in 1969. The Charter that was passed has not been revised or amended since the date it was voted on by the residents of the City.

In recent months, the City Council passed a resolution that will ask the voters of Stephenson to open the City Charter to bring it up-to-date and also elect a Charter Commission to do this work.
